Early years (0 - 5)
Why the early years matter
The first five years build the foundations - sensory, motor, regulation, attention, social, and communication. When those foundations consolidate well, everything that follows has more to stand on.
For neurodivergent children, some foundational stages do not consolidate the first time around. The earlier we identify what is missing, the more we can revisit, support, and build capacity from the ground up.
For neurodivergent parents, the early years have their own demands. Sensory overwhelm, executive function load, the matrescence identity shift, and the intensity of being needed constantly are real, and they are not a sign you are doing it wrong. Specialist OT support that understands all of this exists.
Postnatal Sensory and Regulation Support - £580
The first 12 months.
This is for neurodivergent parents or parents with mental health concerns in the postpartum period. You might recognise yourself here:
"I love my baby, and I am overstimulated all the time. The things that used to help me regulate are not landing. I have lost myself, and I do not know how to find my way back."
That is recognisable. It is also workable.
What is included
-
A 90-minute initial assessment session
-
Sensory profile, executive function, and occupational impact mapping
-
3 follow-up 60-minute coaching sessions, paced to your capacity (typically across 6-10 weeks)
-
Focus areas chosen by you - sensory regulation, sleep and rest, identity and matrescence, returning to special interests and stims, mealtimes, getting out of the house, managing the mental load
-
Strategies sent in writing after each session
-
A brief written summary at the end of the block
Sessions are delivered remotely so you can attend from home around your baby's rhythm. The pacing is flexible. We do not expect you to keep to a rigid weekly schedule.
Typically begins within 3-4 weeks of booking.
Early Years Co-Regulation Consultation - £480
Parent and child together.
This is for situations where you and your child are both navigating regulation needs and a coordinated approach is needed.
Often the right fit for neurodivergent parents of under-5s where your sensory and regulation profile and your child's are clashing, or where you are finding it hard to support your child without losing yourself in the process.
What is included
-
A pre-consultation intake covering both your profile and your child's
-
A 90-minute consultation with you (with child observation if appropriate)
-
Co-regulation mapping - what is happening between your sensory and regulation systems and your child's
-
Practical strategies for shared occupations (mealtimes, getting out of the house, bedtime, playtime)
-
Identification of any child-specific concerns that warrant formal OT assessment
-
A written summary with strategies for both parent and child
-
One follow-up 60-minute review session within 8 weeks
Early Years OT Assessment - From £750
For under-5s where there are early developmental concerns.
This is for children under 5 where there are concerns about motor development, sensory profile, regulation, feeding, school-readiness, or where OT evidence is needed to support EHCP planning ahead of school transition.
The assessment uses a neuroaffirming, occupation-led approach. We look at how your child engages with daily life, what is getting in the way, and what would build the foundations needed for the years ahead.
One environment - £750
Face-to-face assessment in one environment (home, nursery, or our Ilkley office).
Two environments - £850
Assessment across two environments (typically home plus nursery).
Both options include:
-
Pre-assessment intake forms and screening questionnaires
-
Parent or carer interview
-
Standardised assessments appropriate to age
-
Observational and play-based assessment
-
A comprehensive written report with findings, formulation, and practical recommendations
-
An optional remote feedback meeting
If your child is in the EHCP process and you need a tribunal-standard report with specified provision recommendations, our EHCP Assessment Package is £1,500 and may be more appropriate.
Joint OT and SLT Early Years Assessment - From £950
Coordinated specialist assessment.
This is for situations where motor, sensory, regulation, and communication concerns are intertwined. Rather than two separate assessments, this is a coordinated assessment with an OT and Speech and Language Therapist working together, producing one integrated formulation.
Starts from £950. The exact cost depends on the scope - how many environments, the depth of standardised assessment needed, and the complexity of the case. We confirm the cost once we understand more about your child's situation.
The assessment includes:
- Pre-assessment intake covering both OT and SLT screening
- A coordinated face-to-face assessment with both clinicians
- Joint formulation across motor, sensory, regulation, and communication
- One integrated written report covering both disciplines
- A joint feedback meeting
To help us quote accurately, please reply with your child's age, a brief outline of what you are noticing across motor, sensory, regulation, and communication, whether there are any existing reports, and any deadlines (e.g. EHCP planning, school transition).

"I don't know where else we would have learned this."
