Who should attend this course?

This course is suitable for anyone supporting an individual or group of people with movement difficulties. You may be a family carer, a health care professional, a teacher or classroom assistant, a commissioner, a paid carer or personal assistant.

Learning Outcomes
​
* Understand the need for postural care.
* Be able to identify pain and non-pain related behaviour in individuals who are unable to communicate.
* Be able to distinguish between destructive and supportive postures.
* Understand how to apply 24 hour positioning safely and humanely
* Understand the principles of achieving thermal comfort for people needing postural care.
* Understand external factors affecting the provision of postural care.
