I’m Katie Simons, a neurodivergent Occupational Therapist with 21 years of experience working with children, young people, and adults. My practice is deeply rooted in my own lived experience of being neurodivergent, which gives me a unique understanding of the challenges, strengths, and needs of the individuals I support.
I specialise in sensory processing, trauma and attachment, emotional regulation, executive function, and functional daily living skills. My approach is creative, strengths-based, and deeply personalised because I know that standard strategies often don’t work for neurodivergent minds. Instead, I help individuals find what works for them, whether that’s at home, in school, at work, or in the community.
What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT) is about helping people engage in meaningful activities and engage in daily life in ways that feel right for them. "Occupation" doesn’t just mean work it refers to everything we do in our day-to-day lives, from self-care to socialising, learning, and leisure.

Core Values of Occupational Therapy

✅ Person-Centred & Strengths-Based – We focus on what works for the individual.
✅ Holistic & Functional – We look at the whole person their sensory profile, emotions, environment, and daily challenges.
✅ Adaptation – We modify environments, routines, and expectations instead of expecting individuals to fit into systems.
✅ Collaboration & Empowerment – We work with individuals, families, and professionals to create sustainable, meaningful support.

OT & Neurodivergence: A Perfect Fit

Occupational Therapy is not about changing the individual to fit the world. It's about making the world work better for the individual.

If you're looking for support that respects your neurodivergence, focuses on your strengths, and helps you navigate daily life in a way that works for you, OT may be the key.
